Corporate Gifting in Q2: April, May and June

Most corporate gifting conversations happen in October. By then, the companies who've thought ahead have already briefed their supplier, approved their products and locked in delivery windows. The ones who haven't are scrambling for stock and settling for whatever's left.

Q2 is quieter, which is exactly why it's worth paying attention to. The occasions are real, the competition for attention lower and a well-timed gift in May lands differently than one that arrives alongside 20 others in December.

Here's what's worth planning for between April and June.

April

Earth Day, 22nd April

Earth Day has become a genuine touchpoint for companies with sustainability commitments, and corporate gifting is one of the more visible ways to signal those values. Eco-conscious gift boxes - reusable products, plantable paper, responsibly sourced food and drink - work well here both for clients and employees.

It's also a natural moment to review your gifting supplier. If your current boxes aren't aligned with your environmental commitments, April is a good time to make that change before Q4 locks you in again.

End of Financial Year

For companies whose financial year ends in March or April, this is a natural moment to recognise the teams and clients who contributed to a strong year. A considered gift at this point feels timely rather than obligatory, which is the difference between a gift that gets remembered and one that gets recycled.

May

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and for HR and People teams it's become one of the most significant dates in the calendar. Wellbeing gifting, care packages, relaxation sets, things that genuinely encourage people to slow down, fits naturally here.

The most effective wellbeing gifts are the ones that don't feel corporate. A box that contains a good loose-leaf tea, a glass mug and a dry body brush says something different from a branded stress ball. The intention comes through in the curation.

If you're running a wellbeing programme or looking to show employees that the company genuinely invests in their health, a May send is well-timed and feels authentic rather than reactive.

Employee Appreciation Day and Work Anniversaries

May is also a good month to catch up on work anniversary recognition if you've let it slide. Milestone gifting - one year, five years, 10 years - is one of the highest-return gifting moments for retention and culture. It's personal and expected, and when it's done well it reinforces that the company notices.

Bank Holidays and the Longer Days

The May bank holidays mark a shift in energy; longer evenings and people thinking about summer. A gift that acknowledges the season, something for home, entertaining or for the outdoors, lands well at this time of year in a way it wouldn't in February.

June

End of Q2, Client Appreciation

June marks the end of Q2 for most businesses, which makes it a natural moment for client appreciation. A gift that arrives at the end of a strong quarter, with a message that references something specific about the work you've done together, is more likely to be remembered than a Christmas hamper sent to a list of 2000.

A Note on Lead Times

Most branded gift projects, custom boxes, printed inserts and branded products, require three to four weeks from artwork approval to delivery. If you're planning anything for May, the brief should ideally land in April. For June, May is your window.

The boxes that miss their moment are almost always the ones that started too late.
